This
exhibition was born to recover our traditions and our culture in
order to make the most of our historic centre, one of the larger
of Alta Irpinia, and was promoted in 2001 by local members of DS,
the one of the party from the Left.
This initiative became a reality thanks to an artists’ group
from Novara (a city from the North) that had the new-brand idea
to adopt the historical centre of our town. An association called
“Nicura” followed the purpose and so the promoters and
the most part of the artists were joined to reach the goal.
The works were donated to DS Party, and by them handed over to the
city; a municipal committee decided their placing on a route that
crosses all the centre.

Finally
the positive collaboration among the association, the municipal
administration and the regional superintendence department has took
at the presentation of the “Contemporary Art Route”
during the Fifth Week of Culture, organized by Ministry of Culture
between 5-11 of May, 2003. |

Along
the route (about 1,2 Km uphill) besides sculptures there is a lot
more to see: portals, landscapes, historical houses and palaces,
the exhibit hall at School of Art, the Exhibition of Ceramics and
a lot of churches. |
