ITINERARIY 1 (pag. 4)
At the end of “Vico Tornillo” we arrive to the Church of the Annunziata and on the right, going along Roma Street there’s the Baronal Palace built by Prince Mirelli after the earthquake of 1694, that caused the castle fell down.
When the palace was rebuilt a lot of building materials were taken from the old castle, like the majestic portal of Roma Street, once entrance of the castle.

Going up the stairs near Mirelli’s Palace we get to the “Chian r’ Sant’ M’chel”(where there was a church before the earthquake of 1910) from where we can reach Borgo Castello, recently restored and now seat of the Exhibition of Ceramics made in Calitri.

Coming back and going down the stair of Roma Street we arrive in front of the portal of the town-hall: once it was the monastery’s entrance to the indoor garden.

On the front there are two commemorative tablets of two illustrious men from Calitri: Angelo Maria Maffucci and Alfonso Del Re.

So we came back to our starting point, the Square of the Republic.
